To support Riverside Community College District’s commitment to protecting information and ensuring compliance with Board Policy 2721 – Information Security and Data Protection, annual cybersecurity awareness training is mandatory for all employees and those that have access to RCCD employee digital resources.

The trainings provide practical tips and best practices to help safeguard users and institutional data from cybersecurity threats. Thank you for taking an active role in keeping RCCD safe and secure.

Completion of mandatory training is required to maintain system access and remain in compliance with District policy.

Frequently Asked Question:

Q: When will the annual trainings be available?
A: Annual training will be assigned during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October. You will receive a personalized email with access instructions once your training is assigned. You will have 90 calendar days from the assignment date to complete the training.

Q: What happens if I don't complete the training?
A: Your access will be restricted to only the KnowBe4 training platform via https://myapplications.microsoft.com. Once you've completed the training, full access will be restored within an hour.

Q: How long is the training?
A: Up to 1 hour.

Q: Will I be reminded that the training is due?
A: Yes, you will receive reminders at 60, 30, 7, 3, 1, and -1 day of due date. Your manager will also receive reports of those that have not completed the training at 30, 7, 3, 1, and -1 of due date.

Q: I can't find the email regarding the training. How do I access the training?
A: You can access the training platform KnowBe4 at anytime via https://myapplications.microsoft.com and clicking on the KnowBe4 icon.

Q: Will new employees need to complete the mandatory training?
A: Yes, new employees will have 30 calendars days from their hired date to complete the training. 

Q: What happens if I go through the training but didn't pass the quiz?
A: Completion of the training is dependent on a 70% or higher score. You'll need to retake the training and quiz.

Q: I see more trainings than expected in the KnowBe4 portal, are they all required?
A: Only the Annual Mandatory Cybersecurity Awareness Training is required. Completion of other training is encouraged, but not required.

Q: Is FLEX credit available for the training?
A: Yes, it's been approved by all three colleges.
