What is Zoom AI Companion?

Zoom AI Companion is an intelligent assistant that works in the background to help with tasks such as:

  • Taking Automated Notes: AI Companion will capture key points, decisions, and action items during your meetings.
  • Summarizing Meetings: AI Companion generates meeting summaries that highlight the most important information.
  • Smart Chat Suggestions: AI Companion suggests responses based on the conversation context, saving you time.
  • Tracking Action Items: AI Companion identifies, and tracks tasks mentioned in meetings.

How to Use Zoom AI Companion

Using AI Companion is simple and intuitive:

In Meetings:

  • Once your meeting starts, you’ll see the AI Companion option in your Zoom toolbar.  Note:  The meeting host can activate AI companion.
  • AI Companion will automatically begin taking notes and generating a summary by the end of the meeting.
  • After the meeting, the host can access the summary directly in their Zoom account or receive it via email.

 In Zoom Chat:

  • While chatting in Zoom, AI Companion will suggest responses to help keep the conversation flowing.
  • You can review, edit, or send the suggested responses directly.

Best Practices:

  • Let your attendees know: When using AI Companion, inform other participants that the AI is capturing notes to ensure transparency and comfort.
  • Review summaries: Always review and refine the AI-generated meeting summaries to ensure they accurately reflect the conversation.
  • Avoid sensitive info: As with all AI tools, avoid discussing highly sensitive information that may be captured in the meeting notes.  Disable AI companion in meetings where sensitive information is being discussed.
